Rain may have slowed us down, but it didn't stop us!

Football: The football team pulled off a hard fought 12-7 victory up at Nashoba on Saturday night. Nashoba tried to use the excuse of wind and rain on Friday night to push back the inevitable. Nashoba scored an early touchdown but were held to that for the rest of the game. Holy Name was able to score two 4th quarter touchdowns to earn the victory in a hard fought, physical game. The boys return home this Saturday for a 2pm game against Westboro. Hope to see everybody there.
Field Hockey: Although this past week was rainy, our team pulled through with two big wins! Monday we beat Burncoat High School in the pouring rain 2-1, and Wednesday we beat our rivals SPM 2-0. Along with our game Friday vs. Doherty all of our practices this week got rained out, but we still played hard. This puts our record at 4-2-2. We have two games this upcoming week: on Tuesday we play Doherty at home at 3:30 PM, and Wednesday we are traveling to Fitchburg to play Saint Bernard's at 3:30 PM. Wish us luck!

Golf: This week was tough for the golf team as our two toughest matches of
the year were placed in one week. In all of the rain that we had last
week, we played Wachussett on Monday at Holden Hills and St. John’s on
Wednesday at Clearview Country Club. Even though we had two losses,
the team played well overall. We’re looking forward to clinching
districts with our next win!

Boy’s Soccer: Although their record might not show it, the boys soccer team is finally starting to come together as a team. Earlier in the week, Holy Name's biggest rival, St. Johns, came to our home field to face off against our boys. The visiting pioneers were not expecting a difficult game, but that's exactly what we gave them. Although we did not win, the boys kept the score close the entire game. The final score was 1-0 which is the closest they have kept it in years. The boys came to play and they have shown that they are not a team to be taken lightly. In a way, the boys soccer team had a win that day. Their next game is on Wednesday at Foley Stadium where they will be playing South High.

Girl’s Soccer: The girls soccer team had an easy week this week. Because of all of the rain, they only had one game, with Thursday’s against Sutton being postponed. They played on Tuesday at Burncoat High School. Bridget O’Sullivan put the first goal away for Holy Name as she scored on a corner kick 8 minutes in. She had another goal in the first half, making the score 2-0 at halftime. O’Sullivan scored her third goal in the second half, giving her the hat trick. Tay Boucher and Ana Bowden also contributed late 2nd half goals to Holy Name’s 5-0 victory.
