The end is near, but for some.. its just the beginning!

Field Hockey: The girls field hockey team played in two games this week. They faced SPM on Tuesday for their last home game of the regular season. The Naps scored early in the first half. However SPM regained the lead by scoring two goals in both the first and second halves. Leaving the final score as 2-1 SPM. Friday was the last regular season game against Burncoat at Burncoat High. Holy Name pulled out successfully with a 2-1 victory. The girls will play their first district game on Wednesday (11/3).

Football: The boys clinched their spot in the playoffs by winning their league on Saturday. They beat Doherty 26-7. Sean Mahoney had an exceptional game passing, one of his passes resulted in Ron Anthony's first touchdown since his freshman year. The other touchdowns were scored by Quran Write. The boys face Burncoat at Anna Maria on Friday! They are hoping to keep their winning streak going!

Girl's Soccer: The girls started off their week with a hard faught match against Sutton. Although many chances came along, they were not able to put the ball in the back of the net. This game resulted in a 0-0 tie, which was good enough to clinch their spot in the district tournament. On Thursday night, however, the girls brought their A game, and beat SPM at Bowden Field in Sutton. The support from the boys soccer team, the football team and all the other fans helped the girls march toward their 4-0 victory. Thanks to the very strong Holy Name defenders (Renee Bousquet, Bea Bowden, Hannah Owen, Kelli Breeden) and the goal keeper (Corrie Derosier) the girl were able to post two shutouts for the week. Their senior game will be on Tuesday at Holy Name vs. St. Bernard's. A win at this game will make the girls league champs and undefeated in the league. With districts starting next weekend, the girls are in full swing!
